I started this non profit a year after beating breast Cancer the first time. I started this ministry in 2017.
i became a single mom with my first child who was a boy at 16. I had my 2 nd child at 17 who was a girl. Me and the kids father did not work out due to his Domestic Violence and drug use. I became a single mom at 20. At 20 years old I lost both of my children and went to the penitentiary for a year and a half Due to my kids father selling drugs out of the house and I having knowledge of it. I endangered by children, I did not put them first, so DCFS stepped in and I lost them. They were in foster care for a little under two years. I met my future husband to be while trying to regain custody of my two oldest children. I worked really hard and gained employment and got another place, did everything that DCFS required me to do to regain custody of my children . We had 2 children together. They both were boys. We were married & together 12 years. He was also domestically abusive as well, in and out of jail and on drugs. I worked 2 full time jobs to provide for all 4 of my children. I missed out on a lot on their lives because I was at work most of the time trying to provide for them and keep a roof over their head and keep the bills paid and groceries in the house and clothes on their back. Being a single mom was one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever had to do in my whole life. I know what it’s like to be a single parent and need to help and not have the help you need. That is the whole reason I started this nonprofit organization to help low income families and single parents and grandparents taking care of their children.
I want to give them hope and show love and compassion
I started this Non Profit a year after beating breast cancer the first time. I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2015. I actually found the cancer myself. When I was diagnosed I was stage III b. I had my first surgery December 11 of 2015. I started chemo January 15. I had to go through four rounds of chemo. I finish chemo treatment on March 19. I then had to go through 49 rounds of radiation. A year and a half later after beating breast cancer the first time, it came back on the right side. They went in and cut out all my breast tissue on my right side and then proceeded to do reconstruction surgery. October 26 of 2019 I will celebrate being in remission two years. I started this nonprofit after beating breast cancer because I was so thankful to be alive. I became a single mother at 16. I can remember not being able to get the things I needed for my children. I also remember how hard it was around Christmas time. We want to give these families hope !!! We want to show them kindness, and empathy !! I love helping people, edit has actually become addicting !! If we had more people in our world giving back to our community and showing kindness and empathy and love to our community the world would be such a better place.
